PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulated wire which has excellent flame retardance and mechanical properties required thereof, can be colored in any desired color, and is free from problems such as the elution of heavy metal compds. or phosphorus compds. in landfilling in disposal or the generation of a large amt. of smoke or a corrosive gas in incineration and to provide a resin compsn. for forming the insulated wire. SOLUTION: This resin compsn. contains 100 pts.wt. resin component comprising 65-100 wt.% ethylene copolymer and 0-35 wt.% polyolefin resin modified with an unsatd. carboxylic acid or its deriv., 150-250 pts.wt. metal hydrate surface-treated with a vinyl- or epoxy-terminated silane coupling agent, and 1-50 pts.wt. melamine cyanurate compd. The insulated wire is prepd. by covering a conductor with a crosslinking product of the resin compsn. |
