PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a solid-state imaging device comprising a super resolution solid-state imaging element suited for a system that operates based on interlaced scanning, by reducing the number of output pixel signals of a solid-state imaging element having a large number of pixels, such as a super-megapixel imaging element, or the like by pixel addition method. SOLUTION: A solid imaging device comprises a vertical transfer step 12, a horizontal transfer step W, an output amplifier 14, and a vertical/horizontal transfer link section 15. Pixels 11 are divided into groups of pixel mixture unit areas A1-A8. Pixels in each pixel mixture unit area A are mixed by the vertical transfer step 12; and the mixed pixels are then transferred to the horizontal transfer step W. Pixels of the pixel mixture unit areas A are mixed with each other inside the horizontal transfer step W.
