PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely recognize a subject, irrespective of the condition where the subject is included in an image. SOLUTION: This image recognition system for recognizing the subject included in the image is provided with a feature amount database for storing a feature amount indicating a feature of the subject, while correlated with each of the plurality of subjects, a subject recognition part for recognizing the subject included in the image, based on the feature amount stored in the feature amount database, and a feature amount extracting part for extracting from the image other feature amount indicating the feature of the subject that is different from the feature amount stored in the feature amount database while correlated with subject, when the subject included in the image is recognized by the subject recognition part.
