FACE AUTHENTICATION APPARATUS, FACE AUTHENTICATION METHOD, AND FACE AUTHENTICATION PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform face authentication with a high degree of accuracy even if an apparatus is installed at a location where external light is strong. SOLUTION: The apparatus is constituted so that the external light which illuminates a face of an authentication object person may be blocked by providing a light shielding plate and moving the light shielding plate based on output of a luminance sensor. An incident direction of the external light from not only the vertical and horizontal directions but also from obliquely upward or obliquely downward directions are detected by arranging a plurality of luminance sensors. Further the external light which illuminates the face of the authentication object person is detected by carrying out image analysis of the face of the authentication object person imaged by a CCD camera.
