PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction material design support system and a program for storing a section expressing the characteristics of the surface pattern in the surface pattern repetition units of construction materials as an initial display unit, and for displaying the initial display unit at the time of displaying the surface pattern. SOLUTION: This construction material design support system is provided with a surface pattern data file for storing an initial display unit DU being initial display region data in a surface pattern repetition unit CU, and configured to display a region expressing the characteristics of the surface pattern in the surface pattern repetition unit CU as the initial display unit DU at first at the time of selecting and displaying each surface pattern.
