Disclosed herein is a method for screening a TGase 2 inhibitor or activator, based on the finding that TGase 2-induced NF-kappaB activation is attributed to the polymerization of I-kappaBalpha, in which the level of free or polymerized I-kappaBalpha proteins or the level of NF-kappaB is measured to determine the TGase 2 inhibitor or activator.
