PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily quantify the total quantity of iron contained in sample water. SOLUTION: The quantification method of the iron contained in the sample water includes a process for adding dithionate to the sample water, and a process for quantifying the iron in the sample water with the added dithionate by using one analysis method selected from a frame atomic absorption method, an electrically heating atomic absorption method and an ICP emission spectral analysis method. It is preferable that the dithionate is added after a mineral acid such as a hydrochloric acid is added to the sample water so as to adjust PH to≤4.2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
