PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner capable of being easily manufactured without incorporating undesired components and having excellent toner characteristics such as high stability even used for a long period of time. SOLUTION: In a mixed liquid preparing step S1, the mixed liquid is prepared by mixing at least a self-dispersive pigment and a self-dispersive resin into water. In an aggregate forming step S2, the aggregate is formed by adding an aqueous solution containing a coagulating agent to the mixed liquid while agitating the mixed liquid. In a particle forming step S3, an aqueous medium containing the aggregate is heated so as to convert the aggregate into the toner with a uniform particle diameter and a uniform shape. In a cleaning step S4, the toner is cleaned by using pure water. Following these steps, the toner is easily manufactured so that no unnecessary component is included therein. Furthermore, because the self-dispersive pigment with a high dispersive property is used in the manufacturing, the dispersed particle diameter of the self-dispersive pigment in the toner is small, and the toner with the toner characteristics excellent in color reproducibility and so on is manufactured.
