PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lingering scent applying agent for fibers capable of adsorbing perfume to a fiber and having excellent sustained releasability, durability and wash resistance of the adsorbed perfume, and to provide a lingering scent fiber, a perfume-containing fiber and a method for applying scent to a fiber. SOLUTION: The lingering scent applying agent for fiber comprises an organosiliconate and water. The invention further provides a lingering scent fiber containing a crosslinked polyorganosiloxane having a silanol group, a method for producing the fiber, a perfume-containing fiber produced by contacting the lingering scent fiber with one or more kinds of perfumes, and a method for applying scent to a fiber by contacting the lingering scent fiber with an aqueous solution containing one or more kinds of perfumes.
