PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip antenna capable of reducing chip size by increasing the effective relative dielectric constant and reducing the packaging area. SOLUTION: The chip antenna 10 includes a rectangular substrate 11 made of a dielectric; power-feed electrodes 12 formed on one principal face 11a of the substrate 11; strip-line shaped radiation electrodes 13 of a length of aboutλ/4 so formed on the principal face 11a of the substrate 11 as to face the power-feeding electrodes 12 via a gap (g); stationary electrodes 14a, 14b formed on the other principal face 11b of the substrate 11; and through-holes 15a, 15b extending through the inside of the substrate 11. The power-feed electrodes 12, 13 are not connected to the stationary electrodes 14a, 14b via the side faces of the substrate 11, but rather the electrodes on the upper and lower faces are electrically connected by through-hole electrodes which extend from the one principal face 11a to the other principal face 11b of the substrate 11.
