PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing method for a photosensitive planographic printing plate capable of producing a high-quality planographic printing plate. SOLUTION: The developing method for a photosensitive planographic printing plate includes immersing an imagewisely exposed photosensitive planographic printing plate in a developer solution housed in a developing tank and replenishing the developer solution in the developing tank with a developer replenisher to maintain the activity of the developer solution within a given limit. In a time period after the developer tank is filled with a developer solution that is not used for developing a predetermined volume of planographic printing plates and until the fatigue degree of the developer solution reaches a limit Fa, a photosensitive planographic printing plate is immersed in the developing tank to develop; and after the fatigue degree of the developer solution reaches the limit Fa, replenishing the solution with a replenisher is started.
