PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve data communication on a field bus using a plurality of communication protocols, with less effect on calculation process of an apparatus itself and with ease. SOLUTION: A field apparatus 1 transmits/receives data through a field bus using any one of a plurality of communication protocols. It includes a control part 13 which specifies a communication protocol at transmitting/receiving data through the field bus, and a field bus controller 12 consisting of a transmitting/receiving part (a transmitting part 25 and a receiving part 33) for transmitting/receiving data with any one of the plurality of communication protocols, and a switching part (a transmission protocol switching part 22 and a reception protocol switching part 35) for switching the communication protocol at the transmitting/receiving part based on the specification from the control part.
