PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the recording density and to suppress the increase in jitters and crosstalk during reproducing with a conventional pickup to the allowable range. SOLUTION: The write-once optical recording medium has a substrate 20 having spiral wobbling grooves and a recording layer 22 formed on the substrate 20, and recording is carried out by scanning the guide grooves with a pickup having 0.5±0.01 numerical aperture and emitting light at 775 to 795 nm wavelength. The wobbling state of the guide grooves is determined in such a manner that the track pitch TP as the interval between the grooves ranges in 1.1 μm<TP<1.5 μm and that the line velocity v to scan the groove with the pickup ranges in 0.85 m/s<v<1.2 m/s. |
