PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking control device finishing preliminary braking faster than a braking operation of a driver and causing no sense of incongruity to the driver. SOLUTION: Criticality is evaluated from a returning speed of an accelerator pedal, a footrest stepping force, and the relative distance with a preceding vehicle, and a time varying speed of a preliminary braking force is provided larger in proportion to the largeness of the criticality. In a criticality evaluation, it is evaluated to be a maximum first criticality when the returning speed of the accelerator pedal is a predetermined value or more, and it is evaluated to be a second criticality lower than the first criticality in other cases and when the footrest stepping force is a predetermined value or more.
