PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recoil starter of engines, which can prevent impact on the hand at a changing point of modulus of elasticity, can attain the miniaturization of a recoil case and the reduction in number of parts, and is hard to crash. SOLUTION: A buffer 5 is interposed in a route for transmitting actuation supporting force from a recoil handle 1 to a crank shaft to buffer impact when the recoil handle 1 is pulled. The buffer 5 is constituted of a first elastic body 5a and a second elastic body 5b, and is configured so that the modulus of elasticity thereof is changed from a small value to a large value in the process of pulling the recoil handle 1. In the recoil starter of engines, the first elastic body 5a and second elastic body 5b are accommodated in the recoil handle 1 in the state where they are arranged along the direction of pulling the recoil handle 1.
