PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently suppress the abrasion in a sheet part on a nozzle body side caused by seating a nozzle needle in the nozzle body. SOLUTION: In a fuel injection valve 1 configured to open/ close an injection hole 35 with a nozzle needle 32 accommodated in a nozzle body 31 having the injection hole 35 at its tip end, a coating layer Y for reducing abrasion resistance against the nozzle body 31 is provided on a contact face between the nozzle needle 32 and a sheet part 31A on the nozzle body 31 side. When the nozzle needle 32 is seated in the sheet part 31A, the nozzle needle 32 slips on the surface of the nozzle body 31 with small abrasion resistance for a period between the time when the nozzle needle 32 comes in contact with the sheet part 31A and the time when the nozzle needle 32 is pressure welded thereon.
