PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge-trimming structure capable of preventing water, insects, and small animals from invading therein without disposing a shielding member such as a cover at a trimming part between a foundation and an upper structural body in a base-isolated residence and a base-isolated residence formed by taking into account an entrance porch, service entrance porch, and external wall portions which are taken into account in detached houses so that their disignability as a detached house is not impaired. SOLUTION: This edge-trimming structure of the base-isolated residence is formed at a connection part between the foundation 3 formed on the ground 10 and an upper structural body 2 pivotally supported on the foundation 3 so as to be damped by a damping device. A hanging wall boundary part 8 having a ventilation hole 9 for underfloor ventilation and a cut off member 6 is disposed at the trimming part at the external wall part of the upper structural body, and a cut off plate 5 is disposed on the foundation located under the external wall part.
