A mobile communication terminal and a method for controlling the synchronization of digital multimedia broadcast data using the same are provided to allow a user to listen an audio signal synchronized with an image, which is outputted through a display part of the terminal by short-distance wireless communication. A digital multimedia broadcast processor(212) buffers video data included in digital multimedia broadcast data, and outputs an image according to a control signal. A controller(213) decodes audio data, which are transmitted from the digital multimedia broadcast processor, and calculates the time required for transmitting the audio data in a short-distance wireless transmission and reception type to control the outputting of the image of the digital multimedia broadcast processor. A short-distance wireless transmission and reception unit(215) transmits the audio data provided through the controller to an external device in a short-distance wireless communication type. A wireless transceiving unit(216) transceives a wireless signal, and a tuner(211) receives a digital multimedia broadcasting signal.
