PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereophonic microphone in an XY stereo system that needs fewer components and is further downsized. SOLUTION: The stereophonic microphone has a pair of unitary directional microphone units 10R and 10L on R and L channel sides, respectively, and a microphone unit body. The microphone unit body has: a pair of units 10P, where respective unitary directional microphone units 10R, 10L are arranged at a prescribed interval coaxially so that the directivity axes DR, DL face opposite directions of 180 degrees; and a sound insulating cover 21, provided on the circumferential face of the pair of units 10P so that the gap between the unitary directional microphone units 10R, 10L is blocked over a prescribed range in a circumferential direction.
