PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inter-residence remote operation system for reinforcing the cooperation of residents between different residences, and for setting permission conditions of a remote operation in detail. SOLUTION: This remote operation system for residence is provided with a first controller 10 (transmission means) installed in a first residence 1 for transmitting an identification signal including identification information of the resident of the first residence 1 and a remote operation signal for remotely operating pieces of equipment 11 to 18 in the second residence 2; and a second controller 10 (reception means) installed in the second residence 2 for receiving the identification signal and the remote operation signal. Then, the second controller 10 as a permission decision means permits the pieces of equipment 11 to 18 in the second residence 2 to be remotely operated according to the remote operation signal under such conditions that the received identification signal is matched with a predetermined identification signal, and is authenticated.
