PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new meter display device for an automobile improved in design property at low cost by flashing a predetermined portion on an indication plate so as to indicate a scale showing a magnitude corresponding to a physical quantity of an automobile, the scale being assigned in advance onto a display plate, according to the physical quantity without using a pointer. SOLUTION: The device comprises: a rotator 2 rotating in conformation to the magnitude of the physical quantity; a light source 3 rotating integrally with the rotator 2; and a prism-like indication plate 4 having a plurality of pairs of a scale P and a numerical value N corresponding thereto assigned to each predetermined position, where a predetermined portion of the indication plate is flashed by a light emitted from the light source 3. A physical state of a vehicle is indicated by flashing a predetermined portion of the indication plate 4 corresponding to the magnitude of the physical quantity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
