<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, in a network system constituted of a client device and a server device connected by a communication path using a plurality of communication protocols, when attempting to display a listing of the server devices connected to the network system, regardless of the communication protocol, since the server device is connected using the plurality of communication protocols, even though the one server device is connected, the server device is sometimes recognized as the plurality of devices. <P>SOLUTION: The server device that operates in accordance with control of the client device holds a device-specific ID with which the server device can be uniquely identified regardless of a communication protocol to be used, device information including the ID is transmitted in response to a request of the client device, and the client device analyzes IDs included in a plurality of device information items acquired via a communication path using a plurality of communication protocols, and discriminates whether the same ID exists, namely, whether the same server device exists. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
