POROUS SILICON DRUG-ELUTING PARTICLES Abstract The present invention provides biodegradable drug-eluting particles for sustained release of a therapeutic or diagnostic agent ("the agent"). The particles are designed to release the agent in a controlled fashion and then biodegrade in the body, thereby avoiding the need for surgical resection of the particles.
