The present invention relates to a film inspection apparatus, comprising: a sensor unit to detect a region attached with a film on one surface of a steel substrate; a couplant supply unit to distribute the couplant on a region attached with the film detected by the sensor unit; an ultrasonic transmission unit to radiate the ultrasonic ray on the region attached with the film distributed with the couplant, and to receive the ultrasonic ray reflected by the film; a couplant removal unit to eliminate the couplant distributed on a partial region of the film; and a control unit to detect defects existing on the film using the characteristics of the reflected ultrasonic ray. According to the present invention, the film inspection apparatus is able to efficiently eliminate the couplant distributed on a surface of an object for an ultrasonic inspection, and conveniently detect defects on the film on the steel substrate by radiating the ultrasonic ray.
