Provided is a light emitting device with excellent light emitting efficiency. The light emitting device comprises: first and second electrodes arranged to face each other on a substrate; a light emitting layer between the first and second electrodes; and a first restraining layer between the first electrode and the light emitting layer, and a second restraining layer between the second electrode and the light emitting layer. The first restraining layer has lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) and triplet energy higher than those of the light emitting layer. The second restraining layer has highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) lower than that of the light emitting layer, and triplet energy higher than that of the light emitting layer.
