The present inventive concept relates to a liquid crystal display which includes a substrate; a first gate line; a first data line and a second data line applied with a data voltage of different polarities; a first pixel electrode connected to the first gate line and the first data line; a second pixel electrode connected to the first gate line and the second data line; a liquid crystal layer; a first common electrode applied with a first voltage; and a second common electrode applied with a second voltage different from the first voltage, wherein the first pixel electrode includes a first subpixel electrode overlapping the first common electrode and a second subpixel electrode overlapping the second common electrode, and the second pixel electrode includes a third subpixel electrode overlapping the second common electrode and a fourth subpixel electrode overlapping the first common electrode.

1. A liquid crystal display comprising:
a substrate; a first gate line disposed on the substrate; a first data line and a second data line disposed on the substrate and applied with a data voltage having different polarities; a first pixel electrode connected to the first gate line and the first data line; a second pixel electrode connected to the first gate line and the second data line; a liquid crystal layer disposed on the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode; a first common electrode disposed on the liquid crystal layer and applied with a first voltage; and a second common electrode disposed on the liquid crystal layer and applied with a second voltage different from the first voltage, wherein the first pixel electrode includes a first subpixel electrode overlapping the first common electrode and a second subpixel electrode overlapping the second common electrode, and the second pixel electrode includes a third subpixel electrode overlapping the second common electrode and a fourth subpixel electrode overlapping the first common electrode.
