摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satisfactory head touch and also to obtain an improved electromagnetic transducing characteristic and especially to obtain an uniform high output in a wide range from a low frequency area to a high frequency area by overlappingly forming a magnetic layer with a coating method on the magnetic layer formed with an oblique deposition method on a substrate. SOLUTION: A lower magnetic layer magnetic layer 2 is formed on a substrate 1 with the oblique deposition method and an upper magnetic layer 3 is formed on the lower magnetic layer 2 with a coating method. The lower magnetic layer 2 has a column structure growthing in an obliquie direction and columns are bent so that their inclinations are increased as they depart from the substrate 1. An angleθto be formed by the columns with respect to the substrate 1 is not specially restricted but it is disirable to be in 30-70 degrees. Thus, this magnetic medium is made to obtain the same head touch as that of the conventional coating type magnetic recording medium and a recording/reproducing is performed satisfactorily with respect to this medium by the device of the preexisting video deck designed for a coating type recording medium or the like.
