PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound in a high yield by reacting a specificβ,β-difluorostyrene derivative with a specific nuclophilic species. SOLUTION: Aβ,β-difluorostyrene derivative of formula I (R<1> is a lower alkyl; X is cyano, formyl) [e.g. 2-(o-cyanophenyl)-1,1-difluoro-1-hexene] is reacted with a nucleophilic species of the formula: (R<2> )<-> (R<2> is a lower alkyl, phenyl, H, etc.), preferably in an inactive gas atmosphere (e.g. nitrogen gas) in an inactive solvent (e.g. toluene) at -80 to 100 deg.C for 0.5-20 hr to obtain a fluorine- containing heterocyclic compound of formula II (Y is N=CR<2> , O-CHR<2> ) (e.g. 1,4-dibutyl-3-floroisoquinoline). The nucleophilic species is preferably used in an amount of 1-1.5 moles per mole of the compound of the formula I.
