A punching, stamping rivet has a frusto-conically shaped rivet head and a shank following thereafter. In order to create a rivet connection between two adjoining structural parts, the shank is punched through the structural parts foaming a punched hole, and a groove is embossed thereafter around the shank end in that structural part. In order to be able to process structural parts having variable thicknesses, several shank grooves are arranged on the shank, into which shank grooves material penetrates under plastic deformation during the embossing of the groove. |
