PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel and imaging device advantageous in improving the feed accuracy of a movable lens and miniaturizing the lens barrel. SOLUTION: The lens barrel is provided with a position detecting means 34 for two groups which generates position data corresponding to a position along the optical axis direction of a two-group lens 12 and is constituted to control the rotational extent of a motor 2804 for the two groups in such a manner that the position along the optical axis of the two-group lens 12 aligns to a target position based on the respective position data supplied from the position detecting means 34 for two groups and to stop the rotation of the motor 2804 for the two groups on the spot upon decision that the movement of the two-group lens 12 is forcibly stopped when the position data does not change for the prescribed time during the rotational operation of the motor 2804 for the two groups.
