PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column fixing unit and a column fixing method for easily erecting a column between two horizontal members, while erecting the column without impairing an appearance. SOLUTION: This column fixing unit 10 fixes a column member 12 between a plurality of horizontal members 1. The column fixing unit 10 comprises a column joining member 11, a positioning member 13, and a fixing member 14. The column joining member 11 is provided with a through-hole 11a for arranging the fixing member 14. A first insertion hole 1a is formed in the horizontal member 1 for inserting the column joining member 11, and a fixing member guide hole 1c is formed from a side surface. A second insertion hole 12a is formed in the column member 12 for inserting the column joining member 11, and is formed of an abutting surface of the column member 12 and the horizontal member 1. The positioning member 13 is arranged by penetrating through the through-hole 11a, and end parts 13a and 13b of the positioning member 13 are arranged by being introduced outside the horizontal member 1 by passing through the fixing member guide hole 1c from the first insertion hole 1a.
