PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce the memory capacity for a dictionary without lowering the input efficiency in inputting a foreign language. SOLUTION: A plurality of words of a foreign language is registered in a dictionary part 13 by notation of any one pattern in capital letters only, small letters only or combination of capital letters and small letters concerning a character string of words by each word. When a character from a software keyboard 2 is input by an input receiving part 10, a notation conversion part 11 determines whether or not the input character is a capital letter notation or a small letter notation, and stores the judged notation information showing the capital letter notation or the small letter notation. A retrieval part 12 retrieves the dictionary part 13 and a history part 15 by a word corresponding to the input character, and the notation conversion part 11 converts the notation of the character string of the retrieved word to match the notation shown by the stored notation information, and outputs it to the software keyboard 2 through the input receiving part 10.
