<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of telephone calls using one line wire telephone number each as a telephone number of an origination source. <P>SOLUTION: In an IP telephone originating method for making a telephone call from an extension telephone set to a main line through an IP telephone exchange, a logical channel number used for the telephone call between the IP telephone exchange and an opposite party and the main line telephone number used as the telephone number of the origination source are selected independently in terms of the numbers. The logical channel number used for the telephone call may be selected out of logical channel numbers which are not used.
