The invention relates to a system for warning about highway crashes, intended for both the visual warning of traffic participants and the signalling of crash locations, with a view to informing the emergency services, police, ambulance, fire fighters. According to the invention, the warning system comprises a thin brittle conducting rod placed on a lane-separating guard-rail of a highway which, upon a physical impact, actuates a differential amplifier and a comparator as to activate a signalling system comprising some LEDs that emit a light beam directed in the direction opposed to the running direction, and a pager having stored in its memory the highway number and the place in which it is located, the pager being intended to simultaneously inform the emergency services, police, ambulance and fire fighters about the crash while indicating the place and time of impact. The said differential amplifier, comparator and signalling system make up a one-piece system, a plurality of such systems being intended to be placed here and there, on the separating guard-rail. |
