Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for customized reminiscence therapy using a user response. The apparatus for customized reminiscence therapy includes: a response detection unit which detects a user response; and a control unit which analyzes associativity of multimedia data having caused the detected response, and gradually provides a user with the multimedia data associated with the analyzed associativity to induce reminiscence.
