PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus that can be stably operated.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus is a card reader 1 comprising a master device 10 and a security device 20. The master device 10 includes a state confirmation part 100 and a state confirmation information reception part 110. The state confirmation part 100 repeatedly transmits a state confirmation command to the security device 20. The state confirmation information reception part 110 receives, from the security device 20, state confirmation information responding to the state confirmation command transmitted from the state confirmation part 100. The security device 20 includes a security inspection part 200 and a state confirmation information transmission part 210. The security inspection part 200 periodically executes security inspection.
