PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrotreatment method of heavy oil, capable of efficiently producing a light fraction such as gasoline, naphtha fraction or LPG fraction in large quantity by using a heavy oil of API 20 or less and improving the cracking activity of the heavy oil.SOLUTION: A hydrotreatment method of heavy oil includes: preliminarily subjecting, prior to contact treatment with catalyst, a heavy oil of API 20 or less to heating treatment at 200-350°C in the presence of an aggregation relaxing agent mixed in a ratio of 2-50 vol% relative the total amount of the system; performing hydrodesulfurization treatment in a hydrodesulfurization catalyst system including a metal belonging to group 4 of the periodic table; and further performing catalytic cracking treatment in a fluid catalytic cracking unit. |
