<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production method and a hydrogen production apparatus efficiently and stably generating hydrogen in a simple and easy way, particularly quickly and intermittently generating hydrogen regardless of the state of reaction of a hydrogen generating material with water, and to provide a fuel cell system including the hydrogen production apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen production method produces hydrogen by supplying water to a hydrogen generating material housing vessel which houses a hydrogen generating material containing a hydrogen generating substance which generates hydrogen by exothermic reaction with water. When hydrogen production is suspended, a rate of reaction of the hydrogen generating material which is a percent of the amount used already in hydrogen generation is detected, and when the rate of reaction of the hydrogen generating material is larger than a preset threshold value, surplus hydrogen is generated by continuously or intermittently supplying water to the hydrogen generating material housing vessel while controlling the amount of water supplied to the hydrogen generating material housing vessel, and the inside of the hydrogen generating material housing vessel is kept at a temperature at which the exothermic reaction can be retained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
