IMAGE SEARCH METHOD, SOUND SYMBOLISM WORD ACQUISITION METHOD, COEFFICIENT GENERATION METHOD, PROGRAM AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily and objectively handle an appearing texture and so forth from images of products/articles by interposing sound symbolism words.SOLUTION: An image search method includes, in random order, the steps of: (a) extracting an amount of image feature of an image from a search object image, generating an adjective vs evaluation value for each search object image from the amount of image feature extracted from the search object image on the basis of a coefficient indicative of a numeral value relationship between an arbitrary amount of image feature and an arbitrary adjective vs evaluation value; and (b) receiving search conditions containing sound symbolism words from users, and generating the adjective vs evaluation value from the sound symbolism word. The image search method comprises the steps of: determining a degree of similarity between the adjective vs evaluation value generated for the sound symbolism word and the adjective vs evaluation value generated for each search object image; and offering the corresponding search object image, based on the degree of similarity as a search result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 16
