A device for aligning the front edge of a sheet of paper in paper sheet processing machines, in particular paper printing machines, has front edge stops (10) mounted so as to swivel around a first axis, means for cyclically swivelling the paper sheet stops around said axis from a rest position located outside the paper sheet transport plane into a working position in which the stopping surfaces of the front edge stops (10) are perpendicular to the paper sheet transport plane, running across said plane, and from said working position back again to the rest position located outside the paper sheet transport plane. Each front edge stop (10) is associated with a pivoting second axis which in the working position of the front edge stop (10) stands perpendicularly to the paper sheet transport plane. Each front edge stop is mounted so as to also swivel around said second axis. A stopping edge (15) transversely arranged to the direction of transport of the paper sheets in the plane of the table is in contact with the stopping surfaces (11) of the front edge stops (10) in the working position of the latter. |
