1,5-Benzodiazepine derivatives represented by general formula (I), salts thereof, and medicines containing the same as the active ingredient: (wherein R1 represents hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogeno; R2 and R3 may be the same or different and each represents hydrogen, alkenyl, alkyl, phenyl, acyl, etc.; and R4 and R5 may be the same or different and each represents hydrogen, alkyl, carboxyl, etc.). The compounds have an excellent gastrin and/or CCK-B receptor antagonism and are useful as remedies for gastric ulcer and gastrointestinal movement disorder.
