<p>Improved systems and methods for removing contaminants from a contaminated stream are provided that include descending, via gravity, a packed bed (12B) through a contaminated stream (22) and adsorbing the contaminants thereon. The now contaminant-adsorbed packed bed (13B) is then desorbed of the contaminants by being descended, via gravity, through a desorbing stream (28). The packed bed is then recirculated through the system by being transferred to above the contaminated stream.</p> |
