PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect electrodes to an external circuit with electric stability by miniaturizing an element substrate and reducing wiring resistance without using any mold material or protecting tape. SOLUTION: An organic EL element comprises an element substrate 2, an anode 3 formed of a transparent conductive film on the element substrate 2, an organic layer 4 including a light emitting layer and being formed on the anode 3, a cathode 5 formed of a metal conductive film an the organic layer 4, and a sealing cap 6 for sealing the anode 3, the organic layer 4 and the cathode 5 on the element substrate 2 in the state in which its inside is kept in dry atmosphere and sealing them at the periphery. Wiring 3A and the like for the anode 3 and the cathode 5 are connected to a flexible cable 10 extended from an outside circuit for inputting drive signals to the anode 3 and the cathode 5 in a space inside of a sealed portion 8 between the element substrate 2 and the sealing cap 6. |
