PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crucible for pulling a single crystal which is a carbonaceous crucible with a double-layer structure where an inside layer is a graphite material and an outside layer is a C/C material and which is excellent in durability and a long use life. SOLUTION: The crucible for pulling the single crystal has the double-layer structure where the inside layer is the graphite material having a bulk specific density of 2.1 or more, a porosity of 20-25% and a thermal expansion coefficient of 1.0×10<SP>-6</SP>/°C (at room temperature to 400°C) or less and the outside layer is the C/C material.
