<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording programming system which checks a program name even when a user can not recall the name of the program which the user wants to record and informs the name to the user, and improves a usage rate of a recording function, and a recording device applied to the recording programming system. <P>SOLUTION: A user sings a song used in a program which the user wants to record to a microphone 37 of a recording device 3. A controller 30 of the recording device 3 transmits song data concerning the song to a DB server 2 through a network 5. When the song data transmitted from the recording device 3 is received, a controller 21 on a DB server 2 side extracts a program name corresponding to music data including the song data from a table of a hard disk 22.
