PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume hologram manufacturing method by which time required for manufacturing a volume hologram can be shortened and the volume hologram can be manufactured by a simple manufacturing process and to provide the volume hologram manufactured by the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The volume hologram manufacturing method is provided for manufacturing the volume hologram where interference fringes generated due to exposure using first incident light L1 and second incident light L2 made incident from a direction different from that of the first incident light L1 are recorded in a recording material 20, and the method includes a light separation process for separating at least one of the first incident light L1 and the second incident light L2 into two or more beams and an exposure process for recording interference fringes with a plurality of sorts of intervals in the recording material 20 by exposure using the beams separated by the light separation process.
