PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily removing an unnecessary part of one substrate left covering an electrode lead-out part for a liquid crystal display element using flexible substrates and provided with the electrode lead-out part on the other substrate exposed in a recessed part of the one substrate. SOLUTION: A side 122 of the recessed part 12 of the one substrate which crosses lead-out electrodes is half-cut, and sides 121 and 124 of the recessed part 12 of the one substrate which do not cross the lead-out electrode are full-cut. Then the substrate left in a strip or single-cell state at a position (a recessed part of the upper substrate) opposed to the electrode lead-out part is removed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
