PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rupture detection method of a sieve capable of certainly and instantaneously detecting the sieve, and to provide a sieving device for sorting a powder according to a particle size. SOLUTION: In a method for detecting the rupture of the sieve of a sieving machine for sorting the powder according to the particle size, the rupture of the sieve is decided as being detected, when the AE signal obtained from the acoustic emission (AE) sensor attached to the sieving device exceeds a preset reference value.
