PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and continuously form a road surface sign in a groove formed on a road surface. SOLUTION: This road surface cutting drum assembly has a drum formed in a cylindrical shape out of metal and a plurality of blade bodies having a tip for forming a straight line-shaped tip edge parallel to the axis L of the drum and fixed to an outer peripheral surface of the drum. When assembled once, a drum assembly is stored in an assembling state, and is carried and installed in a road surface cutting device. The blade bodies adjacent in the width direction of the drum are mutually separated in the peripheral direction, and the respective blade bodies can be fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the drum by imparting the sufficient fixing area. End parts in the width direction of the tip arranged in the adjacent blade bodies are overlapped with each other, and the tip edge of the respective tips is arranged on the same radius, and a belt-like groove having the uniform depth in the whole width of the blade bodies fixed to the drum, can be formed on the road surface, without generating an unshaved part or a recess-projection part on a bottom surface of the belt-like groove.
