PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide newsprint paper which reduces a cost by cyclic usage of resources, has little blanket stain by pitch and paper dust, printing white spots etc., excellent ink absorption and ink drying properties and high opacity and little print through. SOLUTION: The newsprint paper is obtained by adding a filler to pulp, the pulp contains a wastepaper pulp derived from at least gypsum board wastepaper and at least calcium sulfate as a filler.
